An envelope is left at the hospital with Norah's name written in a loopy, fancy script. The note inside is written in much the same.
Jo,
I'm going out of town with the students here for a week. I wish I could be there for you, and I am sorry I am not. For this I owe you and I am praying for you daily. Please be safe and think good thoughts. My mind is on you, though I am unsure of how to say such a phrase in English without it sounding... creepy, I believe. So German will have to do in which to express myself. Ich denke oft an Sie, Jo.
Sincerely,
Kurt Wagner
If one is to attempt to translate the German, they would find it reads (roughly) 'I am thinking about you'.
